County Announces
More 4-H Fair Winners
The Somerset County 4-H Fair was a lucky event for 30
winners in the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Board of Agriculture, Solid
Waste Management Division, Planning Division, Prosecutor’s Office and Business
Partnership drawings. Prizes were donated by New Jersey businesses and
organizations.
“We are pleased that so many people visited
the government tents, entered contests, played games, won prizes and met with
county personnel on a one-to-one basis,” said Freeholder Director Denise
Coyle. “Our hope is that visitors
walked away with a greater understanding of the many programs, events, services
and activities offered throughout the year by county government.”
In the Sheriff’s
Office drawings, John Reid of Bridgewater won a Nintendo Game Boy and a $25
gift certificate donated by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Officers Association
FOP Lodge 39, Rivka Polyakov of Raritan won a portable DVD player and four DVDs
donated by the Somerset County Corrections Officers PBA 177 and Anthony Paun of
Somerville won a Nintendo Game Cube, a Mario Kart game, a controller and a $30
gift certificate donated by the Somerset County Superior Officers
Association.
The Board of
Agriculture had two prize winners in its pie-eating contests. David Everett of Hillsborough and Timothy
Nardone of Whitehouse won passes to play mini golf at the Branchburg Family
Golf Center in Branchburg. The golf
center donated the prizes and the 4-H Association and Norz-Hill Farm in Hillsborough
donated the pies.
In the Solid Waste
Management Division’s drawings Elija Melentijevic of Raritan won four tickets
to a Yankee game donated by Colgate Paper Stock Company Inc. in New Brunswick,
Karen Bradley of Bridgewater won a composter donated by Solid Waste Management,
Stephanie Bauer of New York and Mark Allen of Branchburg won a Marcal gift pack
donated by Marcal Paper Mills Inc. in Elmwood Park.
Also, Joseph
Kowalsky of Bridgewater won four tickets to a Somerset Patriots game donated by
WCTC radio station in New Brunswick, Lori Frazier of Basking Ridge won a Jolly
Trolly recycling system donated by Jedstock Inc. in Plainfield and Thomas
Rusowicz of Manville won a DVD player donated by Village Office Supply in
Bridgewater.
The Planning
Division had three winners in its game board contest as follows: David Bakos of Warren won two tickets to the
Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium show or its laser light concerts
in North Branch, Padraic Czenkij of Bridgewater won a $25 gift certificate to
Learning Express in Hillsborough donated by Learning Express and Carolyn Mako
of Hillsborough won two tickets to a “Jazz in Bridgewater Concert Series”
donated by the Somerset County Vocational and Technical Schools Foundation in
Bridgewater.
The Prosecutor’s
Office had 15 winners in its drawing for infant seats and booster seats. The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic
Safety donated the prizes.
Lastly, the
Somerset County Business Partnership had 10 winners in its drawings as follows:
R. Thompson of Somerville–a $25 gift certificate to Learning Express in
Hillsborough and a bucket of fun; Sandra Benscoter of Somerville-a one-night
stay for two with a whirlpool package at Hilton Garden Inn in Bridgewater; A.P.
Walter of Warren -a one-night stay for two with breakfast at Residence Inn in
Somerset; Rich Sira of Raritan-a one-night stay for two with breakfast at the
Somerset Courtyard in Somerset; and Carol Duffy of Manville-a one-night stay
for two with breakfast at Basking Ridge Courtyard in Basking Ridge.
Additional winners
were Divya Mistry of Bridgewater- a one-night stay for two with breakfast at
the Lebanon Courtyard in Lebanon; E. Kowalski of Staten Island, N.Y.- a
one-night stay for two with breakfast at the Bridgewater Marriott in
Bridgewater; C.T. Wang of Hillsborough-a $25 gift certificate to the Chimney
Rock Inn in Bound Brook; Lynn Kirshner of Bridgewater-four tickets to the Big
Apple Circus in Bridgewater when it is in town; and Chris Wynkoop of
Bridgewater-an Ionic water bottle and gift certificate. The businesses and hotels donated the
prizes.
