Maryland Expands Discrimination Protections

Maryland revised its Employment Discrimination is Unlawful posting to include gender and ethnicity in the list of statuses protected under Maryland State Government Article, §20-602. The State also noted that both physical and mental disabilities are protected by statute.

Employee Statuses Protected from Workplace Discrimination Under Maryland Law

  • Race
  • Gender/Sex
  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • National Origin
  • Religion
  • Physical or Mental Disability
  • Color
  • Marital Status

The posting is required for employees with locations in Maryland, and the GovDocs Research Department has confirmed the revisions noted above are mandatory.

If you have a previous version of the posting, it’s time to update it. Check out GovDocs Maryland State-on-One poster, which contains the current posting and other postings required for all employers with locations in Maryland.
