New Mexico Minimum Wage Increase Fails by Three Votes

The proposal that would have let New Mexico voters decide on a minimum wage increase fell three votes short in the State’s House of Representatives.

In a 33 to 29 vote, the House ended the chances for a proposed increase of the State’s minimum wage to $8.40 per hour for another legislative session.

New Mexico’s minimum wage has remained at $7.50 per hour since 2009.
