Daly City, CA Enacts Minimum Wage Ordinance with Posting Requirement

On Jan. 14, 2019, the Daly City, CA City Council enacted the Daly City Minimum Wage Ordinance. The ordinance will increase the city’s minimum wage to $15.00 by 2021.

The ordinance applies to all employers with employees that work two or more hours per week within the city limits of Daly City.

The current wage is set at $12.00 and will increase as follows:

  • 1, 2020 – $13.75
  • 1, 2021 – $15.00
  • 1, 2022 and thereafter – increase annually based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI)

Employers may not offer tips or fringe benefits such as health insurance, vacation, sick leave or other benefits to offset or give credit towards Daly City’s wage requirements.

Posting Requirement

Daly City has released an accompanying Daly City Minimum Wage Ordinance posting. Employers are required to display the posting in a conspicuous area where all employees can view it.
