and Compliance Team

The backbone of GovDocs is our employment law compliance expertise. Led by Jana Bjorklund, our team is dedicated to providing accurate and timely information across the GovDocs platform and our solutions — Labor Law Poster Products, GovDocs Minimum Wage and GovDocs Paid Leave. Each member of the Employment Law and Compliance team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure our clients maintain compliance and peace of mind as they navigate the complex world of employment law.

Jana Bjorklund

Senior Counsel and Director, Employment Law and Compliance

Jana Bjorklund, Senior Counsel and Director, Employment Law and Compliance, is GovDocs’ “employment law evangelist.”

In her role, she applies her knowledge and experience to develop and deliver groundbreaking products by leading the company’s efforts to understand today’s most challenging employment law-related questions; engage with future customers and current clients; collaborate with GovDocs’ teams to create products that solve companies’ most pressing issues; and oversee a team who researches and tracks legislation and regulatory changes, and validates all GovDocs content achieves “air-tight” compliance.

Jana, who joined GovDocs in 2019, has significant experience within global businesses, providing advice and counsel relative to compliance with employment laws.

Dana Holle

Associate Counsel, Employment Law and Compliance

Dana joined the Employment Law and Compliance team in 2019. The team conducts research and monitors changes to legislation in order to ensure that all products are up to date for GovDocs clients each month. She previously worked for a law firm specializing in subrogation.

In this role, she led the Wisconsin auto subrogation practice group and was also a team member on the Wisconsin workers’ compensation practice group. She earned her juris doctor from University of Wisconsin Law School and bachelor’s degree in history at University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

During her time at Wisconsin, she was a law clerk at University of Wisconsin System’s Office of General Counsel, where she performed legal research on issues involving employment, higher education and administrative law.

Erin Oberdorfer

Principal Research Analyst

Erin Oberdorfer, Principal Research Analyst, conducts research on posters, finds new and updated postings, and maintains an accurate database to ensure clients remain compliant.

Using original sources and technology to monitor changes, she constantly tracks federal updates, as well all postings for all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, and countless cities. Primarily focused on the GovDocs Update Program, Erin has been with the company for almost eight years.

Erin has master’s degrees in library science, instruction and music criticism, along with bachelor’s degrees in English writing and music theory and composition. Prior to GovDocs, Erin worked as an information specialist at a large law firm and before that as a law librarian at another firm specializing in auto rental legislation.

Kathleen McCarthy

Compliance Paralegal

Kathleen McCarthy, Compliance Paralegal, supports the GovDocs legal data products and postings products by ensuring information accurately reflect current laws, and by conducting legal research in the employment law and compliance landscape.

Kathleen has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of St. Thomas and a Graduate Paralegal Certificate from Hamline University. Prior to GovDocs, she worked as a legal assistant at a small personal injury law firm in Lake Elmo, Minn., and before that as a legal analyst for a mid-size receivables management master servicer in Roseville, Minn.

Hannah Opheim

Compliance Paralegal

Hannah Opheim joined GovDocs as a Compliance Paralegal in May 2023.

In her role at GovDocs, Hannah monitors changing legislation for our labor law poster programs and GovDocs Minimum Wage, extensively researching bills and laws at the federal, state, county and city levels.

She has a legal studies degree from Winona State, where she was named an Outstanding Graduate. She has previous experience as a Social Security Paralegal Intern, Automobile Subrogation Paralegal and Subrogation Recovery Analyst.
