Chicago, IL
Chicago consistently sees notable minimum wage changes take effect each July. Effective July 1, 2026, the minimum wage rates are as follows:
- Standard rate: $17.05
- Tipped rate: $12.96
The Chicago Labor Standards poster provides employees with information on current wages, wage theft, paid leave, human trafficking, and complaint filing should an employee need further support. Chicago has updated this poster and was shipped out in June to impacted locations.
Cook County, IL
Cook County also raised its minimum wage rate this year. What sets Cook County apart from other county-level ordinances, such as unincorporated Los Angeles County or Montgomery County, is that home rule municipalities within it have the option to opt out. Even so, effective July 1, 2026, the county’s minimum wage increased to $15.40 and the tipped rate increased to $9.25.
The Cook County minimum wage poster outlines the current wage rates, which businesses in the county are required to comply, and the process for filing a complaint against the employer. Cook County released its updated poster, and these posters were also shipped out in the Standard Update Program in June.
Montgomery County, MD
Montgomery County increased its minimum wage rate on July 1st, 2026, to the following rates:
- Large (51 or more employees): $18.00
- Midsize (11 to 50 employees): $16.50
- Small (10 or less employees): $15.90
Montgomery County has designed its minimum wage poster to give employees as much information as possible, covering wage rates, general wage details, overtime requirements, exemption criteria, and how to file a complaint. Maryland recently issued this updated poster, and it’s set to ship in July.
Howard County, MD
Howard County is another Maryland county that updated its minimum wage rate for small employers on July 1st, 2026, to the following rates:
- Standard rate: $16.00
- Tipped rate: Remains at $3.63
Howard County’s minimum wage poster is very similar to Montgomery County’s poster, in that it contains wage rates, other wage information, overtime requirements, exemption status requirements, and complaint filing process information. The scheduled minimum wage update is already on the existing poster, so no new posters will be shipped out to customers.
St. Paul, MN
On July 1st, 2026, St. Paul, MN the following rates took effect:
- Small (6-100 employees): $16.37
- Micro (5 employees or less): $14.25
The wages for July 1, 2026, were added back in January to the St. Paul minimum wage poster, so no new poster was released by the city.
Oregon
Effective July 1, 2026, are the three minimum wage increases for the State of Oregon:
- Portland Metro: $16.80
- Standard Counties: $15.55
- Non-urban Counties: $14.55
Due to the complexity of Oregon’s minimum wage, employers should pay extra attention to their locations when implementing wages for their employees.
Oregon’s Minimum Wage poster provides easy-to-read information on the wage rates in the Portland Metro urban growth boundary as well as the standard and non-urban counties.
To ensure employer locations in Oregon are paying the correct minimum wage, GovDocs Minimum Wage includes LocationCheck, which automatically reviews a location’s latitude and longitude to pinpoint the correct jurisdiction for a location, ensuring that employers are compliant with local minimum wage laws.
Oregon has updated its minimum wage poster. GovDocs shipped out the updated posters at the end of June.
Everett, Wash.
Everett increased its minimum wage on July 1st, 2026 for mid-sized employers. Everett has two separate minimum wage rates depending on employer size, requiring employers to review and apply the correct minimum wage to their employees. The updated minimum wage for mid-size employers is $19.77.
The Everett minimum wage poster includes rates for both large and mid-sized employers, employer size calculations, retaliation rights, and a QR code that employees may scan to get more information from the city government’s webpage. The poster is already up to date with the current minimum wage rates, and there are no anticipated updates for this poster.
Renton, WA
Renton’s minimum wage schedule aligned its mid-sized employer rate with that of its large employer rate as of July 1, 2026, bringing it to $21.57.
Renton does not require a minimum wage poster, so none will be shipped. GovDocs will continue monitoring Renton for any future changes to this requirement.
