Highlights of the New Jersey WARN Act Amendments:

  • Amendments go into effect April 10, 2023
  • Applies to employers that have operated in New Jersey more than three years and have 100 or more employees anywhere in the U.S.
  • Requires 90-day notice of mass layoffs or plant closures
  • Notice triggered when 50 or more employees are laid off within a 30-day period
  • Employers must pay severance
  • Failure of notice means severance increases
  • Remember, the New Jersey WARN Act amendments go into effect April 10, 2023
