New Jersey WARN Act Amendments
Highlights of the New Jersey WARN Act Amendments:
- Amendments go into effect April 10, 2023
- Applies to employers that have operated in New Jersey more than three years and have 100 or more employees anywhere in the U.S.
- Requires 90-day notice of mass layoffs or plant closures
- Notice triggered when 50 or more employees are laid off within a 30-day period
- Employers must pay severance
- Failure of notice means severance increases
- Remember, the New Jersey WARN Act amendments go into effect April 10, 2023
