PRESS RELEASE: GovDocs Experiences Significant Growth in 2016
Leading Labor Law Compliance Provider Grows Customer Base by 35%, Celebrates 97% Client Retention Rate in 2016
ST. PAUL, MINN. – GovDocs, one of the leading labor law compliance providers in the U.S., released its 2016 business results today, announcing revenue growth of 43%, the addition of more than 120 new clients and a 97% customer retention rate.
GovDocs’ solutions, including the flagship Update Subscription program, help large companies in the U.S. and Canada manage their labor law compliance programs, ensuring all company locations are compliant with the most up-to-date federal, state, county and city employment laws.
“What an incredible year we’ve experienced at GovDocs,” said Chief Executive Officer Zach Stabenow. “The growth is just phenomenal – from the number and caliber of new and current clients who partner with us to fulfill their labor law compliance needs, to the development of tools that make our clients’ day-to-day lives easier. We’re thrilled to be in such a strong position going into 2017.
“2016 also marked our first full year in our new St. Paul location. When we moved in April 2015, we more than tripled our production and warehouse space to 6,000-plus square feet, enabling our production team to pack and ship higher volumes of monthly client orders on schedule,” he continued.
Growing Client Base in 2016
In 2016, GovDocs grew its client base by 35%, gaining more than 120 new clients that represent a wide range of industries, including retail, restaurants/hospitality, manufacturing, professional services, financial and more.
Strengthening the Client Experience
The GovDocs Dashboard, a software-as-a-service resource clients use to manage and monitor their compliance programs, had two major releases in 2016. Based heavily on user feedback, the Dashboard was redesigned with an easier-to-use interface and more detailed information, incorporating location lists, shipment tracking, posting updates, invoices and other significant account data.
As Stabenow explains, the GovDocs Dashboard will continue to expand in depth and breadth. “The more information we can directly provide to our clients, the more control and peace of mind they have with their overall labor law compliance programs.”
Investing in Top Talent
As GovDocs grows, so does the company’s commitment to hiring the right talent to move the company forward. In 2016, GovDocs added two strategic leadership positions: Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Director of Product Development.
Vice President of Marketing and Communications Kara Kanis, who joined GovDocs in August 2016, leads the company’s marketing, communications and, most recently, sales efforts. She applies a creative and programmatic approach with her teams to implement effective, successful company branding, messaging, reputation and thought leadership strategies. Previously, Kanis led marketing initiatives for high-growth companies, such as Knowledge Marketing and Jobs2web.
Kelly Knight, Director of Product Development, came to GovDocs in May 2016. Her goal is to define and drive the company’s product strategy and roadmap. Knight and her team strive to deliver programs and tools to make labor law compliance management easier for clients. Prior to GovDocs, she spent nine years developing Westlaw legal products at Thomson Reuters.
“As with our clients, the GovDocs team is integral to the success of our business. The added skills and experience strengthen our organization, as well as offer our clients innovative products, stellar service and a great GovDocs user experience,” added Stabenow.
