As a follow-up to our Sept. 13 post, residents of Berkeley, Calif. voted no Nov. 8 on two measures to raise the city’s minimum wage, in favor of a recently passed city council ordinance.
The new minimum wage law was effective October 2016, increasing to $12.53 per hour, $13.25 in October 2017 and $15 by October 2018.
In addition, the ordinance included a new paid sick leave law.
