Labor Law Poster Spotlight: Important New Posters from the District of Columbia, Nevada, and Vermont

A highlight of several recent labor law poster releases that employers should know about, brought to you by the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team.
In this monthly series, the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team highlights three recent labor law poster releases that employers need to know about.
All three postings are shipping to customers as part of the GovDocs Standard Update Program.
District of Columbia’s Universal Wage Law Poster
The minimum wage in the “Nation’s Capital” increased this summer. On July 1, 2026, the minimum wage in Washington D.C. rose to $18.40, with the tipped wage increasing to $10.30. With these rate increases comes an updated poster informing employees not only of the new wages, but of their protections in an expansive list that includes freedom from discrimination, freedom from employer retaliation, qualifications for unpaid family and medical leave, and workers’ compensation.
The poster also provides employees with easy to access resources, such as QR codes, phones numbers, and links to the Office of Wage and Hour and Office of Human Rights if employees feel their rights are being violated.
Given the robust nature of this poster, failing to comply with the posting requirements could land employers in hot water and result in a $100 fine each day an employer fails to make appropriate remedies. This poster is required for all employers, and it will be shipped to our customers in the jurisdiction who are part of GovDocs Standard Update Program.

Nevada’s Job Training and Employment Program’s Poster
Nevada has seen a few posters updated this year, and that trend is not stopping this month. The “Silver Star” state updated its Job Training and Employment Program poster, which provides employees with immense resources for access to state programs and services including but not limited to Veteran’s Employment Services, Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment Program, and Work Opportunity and Tax Credit.
This posting is unique as it provides employees and employers with a running list of direct links to access information. The service that saw an update this month was the “Silver State Works” (SSW). The updated link takes individuals directly to the agency’s website informing employers of financial incentives for joining the Silver State Works Program.
This poster is required for all employers within the State of Nevada, and the English-language version is shipping to customers who are subscribed to the GovDocs Standard Update Program. Our compliance team is monitoring for the Spanish version to be updated.
Vermont’s Unemployment Insurance Information Poster
The final poster on the list is in the “Green Mountain State,” which will be seeing an updated Unemployment Insurance poster. Employers must display this poster to maintain compliance. It provides employees with time sensitive information on how to file for unemployment benefits, including claim information for employees forced to leave their place of employment due to domestic and sexual violence.
Previously, this poster provided phone numbers for employees to either gather more facts about unemployment insurance or to file an initial claim. Now, employees have the option to skip the call center hold times and directly access information through the web with new links for the most up-to-date information. This poster is required for all employers to post; failure to do so could result in lengthy and costly consequences.
Filing for unemployment benefits can be a very difficult and time-consuming process. Providing employees and employers with the most up to date resources for service access should be top priority. To make this process easier, this poster is currently being shipped to our customers as part of GovDocs Standard Update Program.
