NY COVID-19 Quarantine Leave Law Ends July 31, 2025
New York’s COVID-19 Quarantine Leave Law ends July 31, 2025, but employers still face complex paid leave requirements. GovDocs Paid Leave can help simplify compliance.
On March 18, 2020, the New York Governor signed into law the New York Quarantine Leave Law which imposed additional paid sick leave for employees who were under mandatory or precautionary quarantine due to COVID-19. This paid leave was in addition to other paid leave required by law or provided by the employer.
This is the last of the separate COVID-19 specific laws which were put in place back in 2020 in the height of the pandemic that remained in force. These requirements, however, end on July 31, 2025.
Although this is the last of the COVID-19 paid leave law to sunset, there remain numerous state and local paid leave laws with which employers need to comply. The variety and number of these laws make it challenging for employers to manage.
