Cassy Wille
Account Director, GovDocs1. Read the GovDocs Paid Leave monthly newsletter for intel across all jurisdictions. This handy monthly update, straight from our expert Employment Law and Compliance Team, keeps you in the know of paid leave law changes across the country, regardless of where you have locations
2. Make Control-F your friend. Location Details pages host a wealth of information in summary and full-statute formats, organized by topic. When you have a specific keyword in mind, the Control-F command helps you quickly locate that term on the page
3. Tap into your account team as a trusted resource. Whether you have a question on a law, a certain jurisdiction, or other related topic, just ask your account director or manager! We’ll share it with our Employment Law and Compliance Team for a response and get back to you ASAP
Jana Bjorklund
Senior Counsel and Director, Employment Law and Compliance, GovDocs
1. Spend a little time reviewing detailed summaries of each jurisdiction’s requirements, like eligible reasons for leave, notice requirements and improper use, to name just a few of many important topics
2. Whether you manage paid sick leave in one or across a few policies, you can export a list of locations and the respective accrual rate, date accrual begins, maximum use amount, waiting period before use and carryover requirements to easily compare information and ensure your policy complies with all your affected locations
3. Keep an eye on notifications. As some paid family and medical leave (PFML) laws have long lead times, the Notifications section includes reminder dates when payroll deduction must begin for funding PFML and when benefits are available, which can be one or two years after a law’s effective date
Ryan Stilwell
Sr. Account Director, GovDocs1. Set up email notifications right away to ensure you never miss a new or updated paid leave law impacting your locations (under User Menu > User Preferences in the solution)
2. Leverage your GovDocs account director and manager for any location changes, along with questions on existing or new law requirements to help you maintain compliance
3. Consider providing user licenses to other teams involved in the paid leave process for central access to one set of information
