

Fall Delivers a Flurry of State Minimum Wage Updates
With the fall season in full swing, we at GovDocs have seen quite a few 2017 minimum wage changes at the state level, based on an annual review of the Consumer Price Index, a cost of living index produced by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Three states have recently updated their minimum wages and respective labor law postings:
Florida
- 2017 Minimum Wage: $8.10 per hour
- Effective Date: Jan. 1, 2017
Montana
- 2017 Minimum Wage: $8.15 per hour.
- Effective Date: January 1, 2017
Ohio
- 2017 Minimum Wage: $8.15 per hour
- Effective Date: Jan. 1, 2017
In addition, New Jersey and South Dakota also updated their 2017 minimum wage rates; we are still waiting on the status of the accompanying postings and will share more information once available.
New Jersey
- 2017 Minimum Wage: $8.44 per hour
- Effective Date: Jan. 1, 2017
South Dakota
- 2017 Minimum Wage: $8.65 per hour
- Effective Date: Jan. 1, 2017
