Jana Bjorklund Joins GovDocs as Director, Employment Law and Product Senior Counsel

ST. PAUL, MINN. (May 31, 2019) — Accomplished attorney and business leader Jana Bjorklund joins GovDocs, Inc., as Director, Employment Law and Product Senior Counsel.

In this new role, Bjorklund becomes GovDocs’ “employment law evangelist,” applying her knowledge and experience to develop and deliver groundbreaking products by:

• Leading the company’s efforts to understand today’s most challenging employment law-related questions, engaging with future customers and current clients, many of whom represent the largest employers in the U.S. and the world
• Collaborating with GovDocs’ Product, Software Engineering and Delivery teams to develop products that solve companies’ most pressing issues
• Overseeing a legal and analyst team that researches and tracks legislation and regulatory changes, and validates all GovDocs content achieves “air-tight” compliance

She comes to GovDocs from Ecolab (No. 215 on the 2018 Fortune 500), where, as Senior Counsel Employment Law, she partnered with HR, senior management and outside counsel to manage the challenges of emerging legal and business risks related to all areas of employment law in the U.S. and Canada. Her work included advising on wage and hour issues, investigations, performance management, FMLA and other leaves, reductions in force, disability and accommodations, and non-competition issues.

Prior to Ecolab, Bjorklund served as Counsel at Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (No. 38 on the Fortune Global 500), where she provided legal counsel on all employment law matters for the organization, including compliance and employment law training for managers and employees.

Bjorklund looks forward to utilizing her experience in a business environment focused entirely on employment law compliance.
