Labor Law Poster Spotlight: Important New Posters from Arkansas, Nebraska, and Los Angeles County
By Dana Holle, GovDocs Counsel
A highlight of several recent labor law poster releases that employers should know about, brought to you by the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team.
In this monthly series, the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team highlights three recent labor law poster releases that employers need to know about.
Arkansas’ Veterans Benefits and Services Poster
Arkansas adopted Senate Bill 497, which added a new labor law posting requirement for certain employers in the Bear State. Specifically, employers with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees must display the newly created poster by the state’s Department of Labor and Licensing, in coordination with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The poster includes the following information as required under the law:
- Contact and website information for Department of Veterans Affairs programs and services
- Substance abuse and mental health treatment options
- Educational, workforce, and training resources
- Tax benefits
- Veteran’s designation on a driver’s license or an identification card
- Eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state and federal law
- Legal services
- Contact information for United States Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Crisis Line
SB 497 went into effect on August 5, 2025. Accordingly, the poster has been released by the state. The new poster is in the GovDocs Standard Update Program, which is sending out updated posters to impacted customer locations.
Nebraska’s Paid Sick Leave Poster
Nebraska’s Paid Sick Leave Poster is another new release this month. Last year, Nebraska voters approved Initiative Measure 426, bringing paid sick leave to the Cornhusker State. Under the new law, covered employers with 11 or more employees are required to display the new Paid Sick Leave poster in a conspicuous and accessible area in the workplace. The new poster includes several key components of the law, including the accrual rate, waiting period before use, eligible reasons for sick leave, retaliation being prohibited, and additional employee rights.
Note, if an employer has no physical workplace, telework employees, or employees that perform work through a web or app-based platform, employers must provide the poster electronically or through the web or an app-based platform.
GovDocs is shipping new posters out to customers with locations in Nebraska, and the poster will also be included in the GovDocs Intranet Poster Program for those with remote employees.
Los Angeles County’s Fair Workweek Poster
Like Arkansas and Nebraska, a much anticipated new poster was recently released by Los Angeles County.
Last year, Los Angeles County’s Board of Supervisors adopted a new Fair Workweek Ordinance. Effective July 1, 2025, retail employers with 300 or more employees worldwide must provide certain protections for employees supporting retail operations working at least 2 hours a week specifically in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. The new Fair Workweek poster lists the following employee protections:
- Predictability pay
- Right to request work schedule changes, preferences, locations, etc.
- 14 days advance notice of work schedules
- Right to decline employer initiated changes to work schedules
- Additional work hours prioritized to current employees before hiring new workers
- No requirement to find coverage for missing a shift under certain reasons
- Right for rest between shifts, specifically 10 hours between shifts unless employee consents and is paid time and a half for each hour in the second shift
Note, the Spanish version of the poster was also released, which is required for covered employers to display along with the English version. Both posters are available for additional purchase in the GovDocs Labor Law Poster Program.
