The most recent update on the list, Oregon passed Senate Bill 906 this year, which creates a new hire notice requirement where employers are must provide new employees with a written notice explaining earnings and deductions found in the itemized statement they receive with every payment of wages, commissions, or salary. The notice requirement takes effect Jan. 1, 2026.

5. Federal Judge Vacates Abortion Accommodation under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
On May 21, 2025, a federal judge vacated portions of the EEOC’s final rule for the Pregnant Worker’s Fairness Act (PWFA), specifically abortion as a related medical condition of pregnancy and childbirth that would require accommodation under the PWFA. The court remanded the matter back to the EEOC to revise the final rule.
