Important New Posters from Delaware, Massachusetts, and New York

A highlight of several recent labor law poster releases that employers should know about, brought to you by the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team.

Delaware Paid Leave Poster

Back on May 10, 2022, former Governor Carney signed the Healthy Delaware Families Act, which creates a statewide paid family and medical leave insurance program. Under the Act, covered employees are eligible for a maximum of 12 weeks paid family and medical benefits in an application year. Employers may take paid leave for the employee’s serious health condition, to care for a family member’s serious health condition, to bond and care for a new child, and for certain reasons relating to overseas deployment of a spouse, child, or parent who is a military servicemember.

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, employers in the State plan begin payroll deductions for employees contributing to the cost of Delaware Paid Leave. Then, beginning January 1, 2026, Delaware workers can take paid job-protected leave.

Accordingly, Delaware’s Department of Labor released a new Paid Leave poster covering employees’ rights under the Healthy Delaware Families Act. Both GovDocs Update Program and Spanish Update Program customers will receive updated posters for their Delaware locations.

Massachusetts Veteran Benefits Poster

On Aug. 8, 2024, Massachusetts passed HB 4976, which created a new labor law posting requirement for employers. Effective Nov. 6, 2024, employers with more than 50 full-time employees must post a veteran’s benefits and services poster in a conspicuous location in the workplace. Massachusetts is the most recent state, after New Hampshire and Indiana, to release a new veterans’ benefits and services poster.

Mandated by HB 4976, the poster must and does include the following information:

  • Contact and website information for the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs
  • Substance abuse and mental health treatment resources
  • Educational, workforce, training, legal services, and tax resources
  • Information on how to get a state driver’s license or id card
  • Eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state and federal law
  • Contact information for the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs Veterans Crisis Line

After much anticipation, the Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Veteran Services & MassHire Department of Career Services released the new poster at the start of the new year. GovDocs Standard Update Program is currently shipping updated posters out to impacted locations in Massachusetts.

New York’s Minimum Wage Posters

New York recently released several updated minimum wage posters for employers to display in the workplace.

First, New York’s Miscellaneous Industry Minimum Wage Information poster is required for all employers. It provides the updated standard minimum wage rates that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2025, which are dependent on the region – New York City, Long Island and Westchester Counties, and then the remainder of New York State.

New York’s other minimum wage posters are derived from the state’s wage orders that set certain industry-specific wage and hour requirements, including minimum wage, tip, uniform pay, and meal/lodging credit requirements. The following industry-specific minimum wage posters updated with increased wage rates:

Hospitality Industry Minimum Wage  Required for employers in the hospitality industry
Building Services Industry Minimum Wage  Required for employers in the building services industry
