A highlight of several recent labor law poster releases that employers should know about, brought to you by the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team.

In this monthly series, the GovDocs Employment Law and Compliance Team highlights three recent labor law poster releases that employers need to know about.

Oregon Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Poster

Each year, around the start of summer, Oregon releases several updated labor law posters for employers to display, generally including the state minimum wage poster and others like the family leave and equal pay posters. This year, Oregon also made changes to its Domestic Violence, Harassment, Sexual Assault, or Stalking Protections poster, which is required to be displayed by employers with 6 or more employees in the state.

Domestic violence protections were expanded on the posting so that employees cannot be fired, suspended, retaliated, or discriminated against because the employee’s “minor child or dependent experiences domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, bias crime, or stalking.”

GovDocs Standard Update Program is currently shipping updated posters out to impacted customer locations in the Beaver State. The Spanish version of the poster also updated and is shipping out to those with GovDocs Spanish Update Program

Chicago Labor Standards Poster

Chicago’s Office of Labor Standards announced new wage rates for the Windy City, effective July 1, 2025. Accordingly, the Chicago Labor Standards poster updated with the following minimum wage changes:

  • Effective
    July 1,
    2025
    .
  • Min Wage
  • Overtime Min Wage
  • Standard Employer Minimum Wage
  • $16.60
  • $24.90
  • Youth Workers Minimum Wage
  • $16.50
  • $24.75
  • Standard Employer Tipped Workers
  • $12.62
  • $29.92
  • Youth Tipped Workers
    .
  • $12.54
  • $20.79

A “standard employer” includes employers with 4 or more employees and “youth workers” includes workers under the age of 18, subsidized temporary youth employment programs, and subsidized transitional employment programs.

There was one additional update to the Employer Policies section on the posting. For payout of paid leave upon employment termination, the medium employer payout of up to 16 hours was removed due to the provision’s expiration on June 30, 2025. Now the posting states that both medium (51-100 employees) and large (101 or more employees) employers must provide payout of up to 56 hours upon employment termination.

GovDocs is shipping new Chicago Labor Standards posters out to customer locations in the Windy City, and the posters will also be included in GovDocs Intranet Poster Program for those with remote employees.

New York City Paid Sick Leave Poster

New York City updated its Paid Sick Leave poster to include paid prenatal leave, aligning with New York State’s first-of-its-kind paid prenatal leave benefit that went into effect at the start of 2025.

Specifically, the city posting includes new leave requirements for employers to provide a separate bank of 20 hours of paid prenatal leave to employees. The posting also now states, “You have the right to safe and sick leave and paid prenatal leave. You have this right regardless of your immigration status. Your employer must give you this notice explaining your rights.”

New York City’s Paid Sick Leave posting is required for all employers with 5 or more employees or fewer than 5 employees with a net income of $1 million or more. The Spanish version is required for covered employers with Spanish-speaking employees. Both the English and Spanish versions of the poster updated and are currently shipping out to customers in the GovDocs Update Program
