COMPANY HISTORY

Zach Stabenow in the early days of GovDocs


From humble beginnings in a basement studio apartment to serving many of the largest employers in the U.S., GovDocs has seen tremendous growth over the past 20 years.

In 1999, Zach Stabenow, GovDocs Founder and CEO, was working at an industrial signage company that provided hazard-notice compliance products for manufacturing companies.

After several distributors called him and asked, “Is there any way you can produce labor law posters, too,” Zach thought to himself, “What if I created a webstore where companies of all industries can purchase and download PDFs for whatever labor law posters they need?

That’s when GovDocs was born.

Today, GovDocs is a leader in employment law management, helping large, multilocation companies manage the complex world of labor law postings, minimum wage, paid leave and more. We continue to meet our clients’ needs through a growing suite of innovative products.

With nearly 20 percent of the Fortune 500 and 30 percent of the Fortune 50 as clients, GovDocs strives to reinvent the way in which companies remain complaint in the ever-changing employment law landscape.
